A week of LUXURY

A week of LUXURY

Hello all, Brian here for this week’s update. As Kate mentioned in the previous post (Here) I’ll be covering from 7/15 to 7/21 and then after that we’ll try to get back into slightly more frequent and shorter updates rather than these mega-posts that take longer to digest. A brief overview: We were spoiled this week and got to stay with friends and sleep in beds! In houses! The morning after sleeping at a rest area along the sunrise highway…

2 Sundays Down… (or Back in Business)

2 Sundays Down… (or Back in Business)

Howdy y’all!  It’s been forever since we’ve updated so it’s time to play catch-up.  This post will deal with everything we’ve done from 7/09 (the day after the last post) up to 7/14 – the 2nd Sunday of the trip.  Next post we’ll fill you in up to 7/21, the 3rd Sunday, and after that we’ll try to stay more on track…ish 😉 We camped at a “free campsite” that night, which was actually just a dirt road on BLM…

Update time!

Update time!

We lucked out and found a spot in Yosemite to camp the night of the 3rd! But when we opted to move camping spots for the second night, we realized the full extent of what Independence Day in Yosemite National Park meant… There were just SO👏many👏people👏. There was nowhere to park, let alone camp, so we spent the last night in an adorable little campground just outside the park entrance called Summerdale. There was a stream running behind the campground…

So it begins!

So it begins!

Well we made it out of town. On the day we expected to as well. Sure, we had to replace an alternator and water pump before we left but we did it. These first few days have felt a little surreal. It was tough to say goodbye to everyone and the last few days before we left have all started blending together because they went so quickly. Death Valley is hot. We took a handful of pictures before hopping back…
